This five day intensive workshop will begin with a focus on portrait painting in oil.  We will try to cover all  aspects of portrait painting, from palette choices to drawing to seeing and capturing the colors and forms we see in the model, all the while attempting to maintain a critical and patient eye.  Judging from the needs of the group, as well as the individual, we will then tailor the rest of the workshop, possibly moving to a figurative pose with an exploration of the ways in which a figurative painting can move beyond a studio representation to become a symbolic expression of some aspect of human experience.

The fee for the week is $550.  There is also a $50 modeling fee.  Participants will need to bring their own materials.
